Heltast

Heltast was a Shaman with a drive for more than communion with the spirits. His thirst for adventure would drive him to strange lands, and he found true companionship with different races that shared little with him, and whose beliefs were at loggerheads with his own. Nevertheless, he would lead Axe & Sundry across Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms, finding great profit in dungeon deep and trade route long. Heltast, Aslandrias, and Wiru would quest for many a year together.

Until one day, the spirits stopped listening.

Heltast knew he had to make a pilgrimage. He had to commune with the spirits, whom he had neglected during his quests and merrymaking.

Heltast, putting his large green hand on Wiru's shoulder, left him in charge of Axe & Sundry, but assured him that the pilgrimage would not be long. He would travel to Nagrand, a spiritual geyser of his ancestors, and he was certain he would soon find his centre, and could return to his friends. Unfortunately, none of this would come to pass.

Nagrand proved to be little different from Durotar for Heltast. The spirits had forsaken him, and he was an outsider. He felt little drive to pursue his Shamanistic talents, and soon his power had waned entirely. He wielded his hammer not as a conductor for his wrath, but now as his warrior brethren did- as a blunt trauma device.

His internal conflict led him to Northrend, fighting once again alongside his Orcish brothers at the Wrathgate. Icecrown Citadel loomed over the battlefield, the one that proved to be the one where Heltast would breath his last, struck down by the Lich King himself.

For years, Wiru and Aslandrias steered Axe and Sundry on, making good profits and growing in strength, but they often wondered what had become of their troubled leader, their thoughts inked black by rumours of his participation on the receiving end of the slaughter at the Wrathgate.

They could scarecely hold back their surprise then, after many years, when Heltast returned, undead, and wielding the powers of the Lich King himself. He was a knight of the Ebon Blade.

A Death Knight.
